My story

Hello everyone! I'm Candice, and I have been reading all of the entries but have been very busy lately, so that is why I haven't commented on any of them yet.

My introduction to religion came when I was about 5 years old, and my mother & I became members of an Episcopalian church. We were there until I was 13. It was a nice church, but over time, it grew from one of those down-to-earth small churches (that was about the message, not the money) to a big church that was all about 'image'. My mom & I had enough, and a neighbor recommended us to a non-denominational church. This is the type of church where I found my true love for Christianity; it didn't take the Bible literally (the stories were used as 'guides'), it taught me how to meditate, and embraced being open-minded to all people & their beliefs. Unfortunately, there are many close-minded people out there who assumed we were a devil-worshipping cult, but you know, it's rather hard to worship something that you don't believe in. ;-) I believe in a metaphysical Heaven & Hell, but not a physical one. I believe in the afterlife & karma, but I don't believe you will spend your afterlife in a 'lake of fire for all damnation' if you happen to look at adult porn every now & then. I was baptized as Episcopalian, but in order to be a member of my husband's church, I was baptized Lutheran last year. I don't impose my beliefs on my sons, because I think religion is something that needs to be decided on individually. They have been baptized, but have made it clear they aren't that interested in church.

I have had a major interest in the paranormal for as long as I can remember; my mom used to study Santeria & she gave such accurate readings with Tarot Cards, it was almost scary! I believe in ghosts/spirits, and I believe some places can be haunted, or just house energy (positive and negative). I have been visited by the spirits of my deceased relatives & friends, and after studying my own abilities, I have learnt that I am actually clairvoyant. I am not a psychic by any means of the word, but my sixth sense is strong & I go with it no matter what it is telling me. Doing so has saved my life on more than one occasion. I guess a more accurate term would be "Claircognizance".

My husband and I are very interested in Wicca, and I will admit that many of our friends who are not Christians themselves (but have loads of knowledge about Christianity) have taught us more about our religion than even we knew!

That's about all I can think of right now. :-)

You should see my house energy right now. I wish it would quiet down! The energies don't like it when I'm sick (severe allergies) and it drives Tigger buggy too. He would not stop yowling the other night for anything!

An orb flew through here earlier today too, I'm assuming it was my aunt that recently passed within the week from a terminal illness.

How is your house energy now? I meant to ask you that after reading your comment a while back, but kept forgetting to do so.

((hugs)) I'm very sorry to hear that your aunt passed away. I think you are right, though ...I think the orb may have been her, watching over you. :-)

Very nice intro. Your introduction to religion seems to have been generally good for the most part.

I know this is a very late reply to my entry ...LOL

but thank you! :-)

Yeah, for the most part, it was good. I was more comfortable with it once I started going to a church that was open-minded.

Thank you!
(sorry for the late reply ...I have been reading more than commenting & replying)
